There are no restrictions on the amount of foreign currency you may bring into Turkey, provided a declaration is made in the currency declaration form given to arriving passengers. However, cash, bank notes up to US $10,000 or equivalent need not be declared at the time of entry. It is advisable to change your money through authorized banks and money exchangers. Hotels are probably the most convenient, but an expensive option.
All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels and restaurants and shops. You can withdraw cash in local currency through any of the bank’s ATM’s using your debit or credit cards.
This is entirely at your discretion. However,10-15% of the bill amount is usually the accepted amount at hotels, restaurants and cafes. Hotel porters, sightseeing guide and drivers of the bus also expect a tip of a reasonable amount ranging from TL 100 to 200.
The porters at the airport, bus drivers and support staff will help you to load and unload your baggage.
