Turkey is a cradle of civilization of Roman, Byzantine, Selcuk and Ottoman empires for 16 centuries with its Capital as Constantinople, currently known as Istanbul. The name Istanbul was in use from 10th century onwards but officially recognized in 1929. It drives its name from the Greek “eis ten polin” which means the city.

We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase adequate trip cancellation, interruption, medical and baggage insurance prior to travel. It is important for you to carry the details of insurance coverage during the tour. During the planning you may wish to check with your private insurance carrier regarding the terms of your coverage (or lack of coverage) outside your home country including emergency medical evacuation.

Passports are required for all travelers to Turkey with a validity of at least 6 months beyond your planned return date of the tour.

There are no restrictions on the amount of foreign currency you may bring into Turkey, provided a declaration is made in the currency declaration form given to arriving passengers. However, cash, bank notes up to US $10,000 or equivalent need not be declared at the time of entry. It is advisable to change your money through authorized banks and money exchangers. Hotels are probably the most convenient, but an expensive option.

All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels and restaurants and shops. You can withdraw cash in local currency through any of the bank’s ATM’s using your debit or credit cards.

This is entirely at your discretion. However,10-15% of the bill amount is usually the accepted amount at hotels, restaurants and cafes. Hotel porters, sightseeing guide and drivers of the bus also expect a tip of a reasonable amount ranging from TL 100 to 200.

The porters at the airport, bus drivers and support staff will help you to load and unload your baggage.

We need to pass the information on to the relevant suppliers for your travel arrangements such as airlines, hotels, transport companies etc. The information may also be provided to security or credit checking companies, public authorities such as customs/ immigration if required by them, or as required by law.

We will not pass any information onto any person not responsible for part of your travel arrangements. This applies to any sensitive information that you give to us such as details of any disabilities, or dietary / religious requirments etc. If we cannot pass this information to the relevant suppliers, we cannot provide your booking. In making this booking, you consent to this information being passed on to the relevant persons.
