Tophane Clock Tower


Tophane Clock Tower is one of the popular tourist spots in this city of Bursa. There was a time when a watchtower used to stand here but was destroyed in 1900. The current tower has a length of 65 meters with 6 story structure. All it takes is 89 steps to reach the topmost part of this tower.  It is a great example of Ottoman architecture. This tower provides a wide view of the city making it an excellent spot for fire surveillance.

One can only view this tower from the outside but don’t worry tomb of Osman and Orhan Gazi is within a walking distance of 1 minute.  Osman Gazi was the founder of the Ottoman Empire and son of Ertugrul Gazi.

Uludag National Park

Uludag National Park is one of the naturally beautiful places in Turkey.  It is a winter sports center that gets very crowded in the winters and even in summers; you will find many tourists here.  It has a height of more than 2500 meters that is always covered in glaciers. Around 1 million tourist visits this amazing place located at a distance of 36 kilometers from Bursa.

More than 2/3rd of this part is covered by forest. One can find many unique flowers, animals, and birds here in the wild. One can reach there by road or a cable car, if cable car service is halted due to bad weather then one has to take the Dolmuses, a minibus service for 10 Turkish Lira.

Grand Mosque of Bursa

One is free to enter this mosque as it doesn’t have any entrance fee.  It is the most popular tourist spot in Bursa, and many religious tourists visit this place. It is located at Ataturk Street, near Gazi Orhan Park. The area of this mosque is around 3165 square meters, which makes it one of the largest grand mosques in the world. The weight of its 20 huge domes is supported by 13 strong pillars.
